Dean McCartney has been working as a professional freelance photographer for Australia's highest profile magazines and a broad range of commercial and Government clients over the past 12 years. His folio demonstrates a flexible approach that allows him to tell a pictorial story, interpret a creative direction or deliver on a technical brief.
Committed to delivering on time and on budget, Dean McCartney will personally manage much of the pre-production required prior to each shoot. Negotiating talent fees, sourcing the perfect location and hiring the best crew where needed.
His portraits include celebrity profiles for high-circulation magazines, along with more socially focused government publications. Whether it's an artistic black and white interpretation for a gallery wall, a gritty image for a political journal or a straight corporate shot of an executive, Dean McCartney looks forward to every opportunity to shoot people.
Dean McCartney has recently developed an impressive portfolio of auto work shooting luxury European cars, Smart Car, HSV Holden and police cars for Singleton Oglivy & Mather.
Along with his commercial work Dean McCartney has a longstanding personal and professional interest in shooting places. His folio covers a range of places and spaces, including old and new buildings, interiors, inner city ally ways, art galleries and lunar landscapes.
